Class of 2025 - Senior Information

Please see below for some important updates.
 
-Prom is this Saturday! Tickets must be purchased AND outside date forms submitted by TOMORROW, 4/23!
 
-Representatives from Surry Community College will be on campus this Thursday, April 24th to host Guide, Plan, Succeed (GPS) Orientation Sessions for seniors who will be attending SCC this fall. Get registered for classes, discuss financial aid, and develop a plan with the Purpose Center during this session. Seniors must have applied to SCC already.
 
-We want to celebrate the Class of 2025 on the Mount Airy City Schools social media platforms. Seniors who are interested in having a senior profile posted to Facebook and Instagram can use the link in their email to submit information.
 
-Senior Day is next Friday, May 2nd! Families are encouraged to join us for the Spring Awards Ceremony. You will be notified if your student is receiving an award.
  • Senior Walkthroughs - 9:00am 
  • Awards Ceremony - 10:00am 
  • Decision Day - 2:00pm 
 
-Save the Date: Friday, May 16th - Senior Sunset Cookout - More details to come.
 
-Many students have received admission decisions and financial aid packages from colleges. Ms. White is available to help students and families navigate next steps. Click here to schedule a meeting with her if you have questions!
TRANSCRIPTS
 
  • MAHS Transcripts: There are 3 ways students can have high school transcripts sent to colleges and universities: 
    • Common App - If you applied through Common App, add Mrs. Henson (A-K) or Mrs. Zurita (L-Z) as your counselor, and your school report/transcript gets sent automatically. (If you can see that your school report has been sent, then your transcript has been sent also.)
    • CFNC - for any NC college or university that you applied to outside of Common App, use the link in the CFNC Application Hub to have your transcript sent. This is not automatic, you must use the REQUEST TRANSCRIPT button for each school.
    • MAHS Website (out-of-state / not automatic) - For out-of-state schools not on the Common App, use THIS LINK to have your transcript sent. 
 
  • Surry Community College Transcripts: If colleges are asking for your Surry Community College transcript, you have two options: 
    • If they need an official transcript, you will need to 
    • log into your MyKnightLife portal
    • Scroll all the way to the bottom right
    • Select “Request an Official Transcript”
    • In the top box, use the link that says “Order Your Transcript Online”
    • Follow the instructions to send your transcript (there will be a charge)
    • If they will accept an unofficial transcript, you can find that in the same place 
    •  log into your MyKnightLife portal
    • Scroll all the way to the bottom right
    • Select “Request an Official Transcript”
    • In the bottom box, use the link that says “Request an Unofficial Transcript”
    • Follow the instructions to see/download your transcript and then just take a screenshot (you can take a screenshot on your iPad automatically by using the camera button on the top center of your keypad)
    • You can either upload it into your university portal if that option is available or email it to your assigned university admissions counselor.
